Recycling
The recycling division specialises in recovery of paper products for recycling, collecting over two million
tonnes of paper every year in Spain and Portugal, with a workforce of 1,100 people.
Paper manufacture
This fibre is used to produce 1.8 million tonnes of recycled liner and fluting papers at our paper mills based in Spain and France, making us one of the top five producers of paper in Europe. There are three production sites, housing a total of seven paper machines – two of which are the fastest machines in the world (capable of producing at over 100km/h).
We are world leaders in the high speed manufacture of light weight recycled liners – producing paper weights as low as 75gsm. Continuous investment in engineering and technology ensures the consistency and quality of our paper is world class.
Corrugated Packaging
SAICA has a pan European presence in corrugated packaging, through our network of 36 box plants across Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, United Kingdom and Ireland. Across Europe, we produce an extensive range of standard corrugated cartons, pre-printed liners, litho laminated packs and Point of Purchase displays.
SAICA Packaging supplies many well known companies - which means quality is a given. Our UK sites are BRC/IoP and AIB rated while our Irish site is currently working towards achieving this standard. The
AIB rating is the American Institute of Bakery accreditation, and includes random and regular nannounced
audits.
