Comprising of an Energy from Waste (EfW) facility and an Environmental Technologies Complex – a cluster of waste management and environmental technology facilities.
Located on the south bank of the Manchester Ship Canal in Cheshire, the 51ha (126 acre) multi modal site has excellent road and rail access and berthing onto the canal. It offers the opportunity to create a leading concentration of waste management, recycling and reprocessing users in the North West.
The park will be run by Ince Park LLP in a joint venture partnership between Covanta Energy, a world leader in the development and operation of large scale EfW projects, and Peel Environmental, a subsidiary of The Peel Group, one of Britain’s leading infrastructure, transport and real estate companies. Phase one of the development will see Covanta, the world’s biggest operator of EfW facilities, building the 95MW EfW facility.
This means that there should be several hundred construction jobs over a three year period in addition to creating more than 1,000 full time jobs across the full Ince site.
