Chemical Process/Project Engineer

Excellent Salary (DOE) + Pension



A fantastic opportunity for a Process Engineer to join the team at a small but extremely successful chemical manufacturing company near Preston.

The Process Engineer will support both the Operations Manager and Project Manager managing day to day activities. Key tasks will be varied depending on the needs of the business.

  • Assist in optimisation of current processes
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to address process and production bottlenecks
  • Assist Project Manager with capex and turnkey projects
  • Monitor environment and energy consumption activities
  • Monitor and improve process plant maintenance schedules
  • Update P&ID documentation, control diagrams and equipment specification
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with procedures and H&S policies
  • Data gathering, trend analysis and reporting
  • Assist Operations Manager with day to day planning and management of internal resources
  • Conduct any relevant training
  • Provide cover for Operations Manager when not on site

Key requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Chemical or Process Engineering discipline
  • Min of 5 years' experience gained in a manufacturing / industrial environment
  • Experience in Chemical or similar highly regulated industry
  • Able to prepare P&ID's, equipment specifications and lead SIL Assessments
  • Able to develop own investigative work and manage continuous improvement projects
  • A good understanding of H&S in a manufacturing environment
  • Passion and enthusiasm to drive improvements
  • Strong leadership skills and a drive to progress
  • Able to take on a wide variety of tasks as per the needs of the business
