Contract Manufacturing Engineers - Machining

4 DAY WEEK (Mon-Thurs)

Greater Manchester

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a number of Manufacturing Engineers with experience of CNC machining to join a successful engineering company who design and manufacture high quality components for the automotive industry.

Key tasks:

  • Design and develop cost effective methods for manufacture
  • Creation of BOM's/routings to aid manufacturing
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production times, labour, material costs and reviewing production schedules
  • Evaluate and improve CNC manufacturing process by applying expert knowledge of machining processes (multi-axis), cutting tools and materials to reduce scrap, improve cycle times and reduce consumable tool costs
  • Carry out cycle time studies, capability studies, cutting trials and provide ongoing technical support

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Apprentice trained Engineer with proven experience in a CNC/Machining environment
  • CNC programming experience; Turning / Milling multi-axis machines
  • Ability to plan jobs from engineering drawings to finished product including all tooling and fixture requirement
  • Improvement mindset
  • Team Player
