Indirect Buyer

This thriving manufacturing business who produce precision engineered components, are looking to attract a Buyer into the purchasing team who will focus on indirect spend.

The purpose of this role is to enable the business to procure goods and services in a cost-effective way, whilst managing commercial terms the financial risks to the business.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Indirect Buyer will: -

• Develop procurement policies for areas such as factory consumables, professional services, health and safety, PPE and CAPEX.
• Develop spend analytics to allow good financial decision making.
• Manage key suppliers and manage consignment stocks for factory use.
• Develop strong relationships with suppliers.
• Lead sourcing activities and manage direct negotiations.
• Develop category strategies.

The successful Indirect Buyer will: -

• Have procurement experience gained with indirect spends.
• Be a confident negotiator.
• Have the ability to develop communication channels with internal stakeholders.
• Be able to build strong supplier relationships and communication methods.
• Ideally hold a CIPS qualification.
