A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production/Operations Manager to join a global leader who are pioneers of innovative, safety critical equipment used in defence, aerospace and maritime sectors.

Reporting to the General Manager you will effectively manage and improve production and planning processes to support implementation of new technology.

Key Tasks:

• Ensure all departments are performing well in line with KPI's
• Ensure all products conform to industry standards and customer expectations
• Analyse performance in each unit and drive operational excellence across site
• Lead the execution of the site production plan whilst meeting SQDCP objectives
• Drive continuous improvement activities in manufacturing processes and working practices
• Manage manpower, budgets and schedules
• Continuous development of the team via leadership, training and development
• Prepare reports, budgets, forecasts and capex proposals
• Contribute to the overall business strategy and annual budgets

Key requirements:

• Degree/HND qualified in a relevant discipline
• Experienced Production/Operations Manager with strong leadership skills
• Experience of delivering manufacturing excellence in a batch manufacturing environment
• Experience of implementing Lean/CI tools and techniques
• Data driven with an improvement mindset
• Six Sigma qualification - preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to provide strong leadership in a multi-cultural environment
• Able to make sound decisions to add value, make improvements and reduce costs
• Able to contribute at corporate level to business strategy
