My client, an additive manufacturing based in the Prescot area is looking to replace a long-standing staff member before an up-and-coming retirement. The product range includes equipment, systems, and processes for metallic parts. This UK division sells, supports, and installs equipment to leading aerospace, automotive and medical manufacturers in the UK & overseas.

As my client continues to grow strongly in the UK, they are looking to recruit an experienced Lead Facilities Engineer who can put their hands to most problems with a solution focused attitude.

You will maintain and oversee a company's grounds, buildings, and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional. The Lead Facilities Engineer also will provide advice on all matters relating to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management.


  • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces.
  • Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed.
  • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
  • Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
  • Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
  • Ensures, in accordance with the corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company HSEQ Systems.
  • Provides for motivation and familiarization of all Company personnel respecting the importance of complying with Company system procedures and all safety equipment provided.
  • Assists the sales, service, and subcontract departments in their dealings with customers in all issues concerned with HSEQ at work.
  • Conducts safety audits both internal and external and performs risk assessments.
  • Takes part in accident / incident investigation and carries out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.

Further qualification and requirments are:

  • Advanced mechanical and electrical engineering skills.
  • Mastery of machine and equipment repair, sound knowledge of repair tools and techniques.
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and other QSHE guidelines.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualified.
  • Practical experience of producing procedures, risk assessments, method statements, and waste management plans.
