Do you know how to implement and embed modern systems to maximise equipmment reliability? Can you lead, and inspire an already committed team in the continual journey to excellence? The Head of Engineering will be responsible for asset and reliability improvement, with a strong focus on improving asset integrity, up time, and cost.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic development of the engineering function, what are the measures, what is the data telling you, what are the risks, what is the plan.
• Adopt clear, visable performance metrics and drive achievement.
• Provide strong leadership and technical guidance to Asset & Improvement Engineers & a multi-disciplined
• Be a strong leader, listen, assess, digest, and be supportive and consultative in your approach to the team.
• Promote a Continuous Improvement culture via effective implementation of lean tools & techniques.
• Monitor asset performance to ensure all priorities are met, implementing asset improvement work, reducing variable production costs and product quality improvement activities to increase average OEE from 70% to 80% through leadership & investment.
• Review current maintenance activities and identify opportunities to improve performance and cost effectiveness.
• Manage a budget of more than £3 million.

Requirements:

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer (HNC/HND/Degree).
• Proven experience of true leadership and department systems and structure.
• Any manufacturing environment where OEE and safety is of paramount importance.
• Ability to deliver asset improvement projects to budget.
• Knowledge of world class manufacturing standards and modern maintenance techniques; Lean, Six Sigma, CI, TPM, RCA, RCM.
• Project Management experience.
• Strong leadership skills.
