An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated, experienced Mechanical Team Leader to join the team at a successful, global manufacturer at their site in Wakefield. My client can offer excellent training, progression and career development.

Main Responsibilities of Mechanical Team Leader:

• As a supervisor you will be responsible for your own personal safety and that of all personnel under your authority.
• Promote strong and visible Health and Safety leadership.
• Drive safety improvements within your team.
• Monitor the inspection process to ensure that the correct inspection set ups are followed.
• Attend daily meetings to gain awareness hi-light any engineering issues that have taken place in the Inspection Department.
• Establish an effective communication flow between departments and senior management to maintain a well-informed team.
• Build a high-performance team.
• Promote an environment of trust and respect.
• Ensure your team are trained and competent.
• Identify opportunities to develop capability of equipment performance, to ensure standards are continuously improved.

Requirements of Mechanical Team Leader:

• Engineering apprentice trained and qualified.
• Manufacturing Background
• Highly motivated individual with excellent analytical and communication skills
• Team Leadership skills/ people management skills
• Lean Manufacturing experience
• IT Skills- Including, PowerPoint, Excel, Word + SAP
• An understanding of the Company's Health, Safety and Hygiene Policy
• Good standard of numeracy and literacy skills
• Working towards, or willing to achieve, IOSH Managing Safety.
