A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the team at an innovative engineering company, renowned for high quality design and manufacture of pumps and turbines for the hydropower industry.

The candidate will be responsible for design and development projects for hydropower systems for renewable applications.

We are looking for an engineer with great time management skills, attention to detail & is looking to grow in their role taking advantage of opportunities for progression within the company.

Responsibilities

• Completing calculations to specify, design, refine and validate key mechanical components

• Work well against planned deadlines whilst keeping within the project budget
• Selection and specification of engineering components
• Review engineering specifications and drawings

• Attending supplier FAT tests

• Working with customers and suppliers effectively

• Document & review each stage of the project

Essential requirements:

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline

• A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role

• Experience using Mathcad software for calculations for pipework and pressure vessels

• Experience with bearings, rotation equipment, valves and actuators

• Experience of working from design standards such as BS and pressure vessel

• Knowledge of budget planning
