To deliver this, an experienced Operations Manager is needed for two critical manufacturing areas employing up to 400 team members.

Reporting to the UK&I Director of Operations, responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that operations are always a safe working environment.
  • Work with planning to understand customer demand, ensuring that the production plan is lean, efficient, and achievable.
  • Assess the current capacity capabilities of our operation, ensure correct manpower is available and escalate/bridge any gaps accordingly.
  • Liaise with manufacturing engineering to deliver a CAPEX program for a new, business-critical manufacturing process, ensuring that equipment is configured correctly and capable of delivering volumes and quality.
  • Create a modernisation plan to bring operations up to the required standard, calibrating your approach to the knowledge and capabilities of the workforce.
  • Train and develop your workforce in the practical implementation and use of modern manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Improve interdepartmental communications and working practices.
  • Manage your budgets carefully and deliver accurate reports and forecasts.
  • Contribute to the significant number of NPI programs that are both ongoing and pipelined.

To be considered for the role you will need:

  • A proven experience in managing a large team in a modern manufacturing environment, where all the relevant tools and techniques are embedded in day-to-day activities.
  • Can clearly articulate the various WCM/lean/CI tools, their application, and how you would approach implementation
