Production Engineer - Machining

4 DAY WEEK (Mon-Thurs)

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Production Engineer from a CNC machining background to join a successful engineering company who design and manufacture high quality components for the automotive industry.

Key tasks:

• CNC Programming (Turning/Milling)

• Design and develop cost effective methods for manufacture

• Provide manufacturing decision-making information by; reading engineering drawings, calculating production times, labour, material costs and reviewing production schedules

• Evaluate and improve CNC manufacturing process by applying expert knowledge of machining processes (multi-axis), cutting tools and materials to reduce scrap, improve cycle times and reduce consumable tool costs

• Introduce best practice and establish procedures to improve processes

• Carry out cycle time studies, capability studies, cutting trials and provide ongoing technical support

Knowledge and experience required:

• Apprentice trained Engineer with proven experience of leading teams in a CNC/Machining environment

• Experience of Manufacturing Engineering / Production Engineering and CNC Programming

• CNC and CADCAM programming experience

• Experience of turning / milling multi-axis machining processes

• Ability to plan jobs from engineering drawings to finished product including all tooling and fixture requirement

• Team Player

• Project management capabilities
