Senior Electrical Engineer - Days only (Flexi Time)

Knutsford

Up to £40,000 - £44,000

Our client, a uniquely long-standing manufacturing organisation, is looking to add a Senior Electrical Engineer to their one-of-a-kind facility based in the Cheshire area.

With an unchallenged position in the global marketplace, this enterprise is world renowned in what they do. The only global facility of its kind.

Due to some changes internally, my client is now looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to become responsible for providing advanced technical authority and support, while ensuring the safe installations and operation of new and existing equipment.

Senior Electrical Engineer responsibilities are follows:

  • Assume the role of Technical Authority for Control and Electrical systems in the relevant area of responsibility (includes testing, fault finding and remedial works on relevant Control and Electrical systems).
  • Provide specialist Control and Electrical input into maintenance activities including first line fault diagnosis and the coordination of remedial actions. Collect and analyse data to identify problem issues and present reports recommending action.
  • Liaise with Engineers, Production, and other departments, as required, to identify improvements and modifications to site Control and Electrical systems. Lead the design process for new Control, Electrical systems and improvement works.
  • Work with internal and external resource to manage and implement changes to site infrastructure and control systems.
  • Undertake the role of Site Electrical Engineer and liaise with external supply authority as required.
  • Provide recommendations to the Head of Engineering for potential expenditure to be included in the capital budget.
  • Carry out research to identify new statutory requirements, or potential improvement opportunities, and to source new and replacement systems. Liaise with external suppliers and contractors to develop these systems.
  • Manage the implementation of selected capital projects up to a value of £50K, within defined costs and timescales.
  • Contribute to the Control and Electrical design process for machine safety.
  • Lead control and Electrical input into machine risk assessments and HAZOP studies.
  • Use of CMMS system to manage maintenance activities and statutory inspections.
  • Undertake all activities in line with company Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and procedures, inclusive of the mandatory wearing of PPE, and participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace.

Senior Electrical Engineer will posses

    • Supervisor experience is essencial
    • Confident via experience or qualified electrical engineer.
    • Significant experience in fault finding in control systems.
    • Experience of repair & maintenance of site facilities.
    • Ideally the successful candidates will have solid exposure to working in a manufacturing facility, this is desirable not essential.
