Senior Mechanical Engineer

£42,000 - £50,000


Due to a significant growth an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to come and join a successful business at their site in Kent. Ideally I am looking for someone who has some experience leading a small number of junior engineers.

My client is a leading manufacturer of magnetically shielded rooms across a large range of sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of 4 engineers
  • Identifying design requirements
  • Preparing component and assembly designs
  • Preparing detailed drawings
  • Leading design reviews for components and systems (PDR, CDR, PPR)
  • Looking after the team's KPIs
  • Preparing design release documentation
  • Producing operating procedures
  • Producing technical documents, reports and presentations

Key Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (mechanical or design)
  • Ability to lead a small team
  • Ability to lead large projects
  • Experienced with using 3D CAD software
  • Understand the full lifecycle of design
  • Experienced in reviewing and approving designs and drawings
  • Understand Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to use ERP or MRP systems

On Offer:

  • A salary of up to £50,000
