Job Description

Technical Advisor

Hybrid Working

Up to £45,000 + excellent benefits package

How would you like to be instrumental in creating a new, added value USP for an established construction product engineering company, building on your current knowledge of the building envelope, and applying it to their specialised product portfolio.

In this newly created and exciting role, you will be pivotal in establishing the company's first in-house technical support department. First, you will naturally need to learn the dynamics of the product portfolio, but will then partner with the sales team, offering advice and guidance on product application, specification, and design, whilst being a key point of contact for customer technical queries relating to structural, thermal, fire and acoustic properties. Where you don't have a solution, you will have the capability to network and gain the answers efficiently.

Once the role is established, there is the possibility that you will need to then recruit team members, giving additional resource to meet the constantly increasing demand for their products. Additionally, it is highly likely that you will partner with the marketing function in evolving and developing promotional material relating to technical support capabilities, including website/online content.

Activities and responsibilities:

  • You must be willing to take part in activities that relate to your own personal/professional development - supported by the business.
  • Hybrid working means that you will need to be comfortable working remotely, as well as spending time at the company's existing and newly build manufacturing facilities. You will also be expected to travel to meet customers.
  • You will be inquisitive by nature, asking questions to understand the situation before investigating or giving advice.
  • You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, internally and externally, at all levels within the organisation.
  • You will need to be familiar with one/some/all of building product design considerations for structural, thermal, fire, acoustic properties, and understand the practical application of the associated calculations used.
  • You will be comfortable reading, understanding and perhaps editing CAD drawings in Adobe, Autodesk or similar.

To be considered, you must have the following:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experienced user of CAD software
  • A solid understanding of the building envelope
  • A solid understanding of current building regulations

At Morgan Ryder we can provide you with a full range of employment opportunities from short term and fixed term temporary vacancies to permanent positions.

We recruit for companies that operate in the following industries: Food and Drink Manufacturers, FMCG, Packaging, Engineering, Automotive, Aerospace, Warehousing, Logistics, Waste Management, Petro Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Power & Renewable Energy.

Please note that calls to and from the offices of Morgan Ryder Associates Ltd. may be monitored or recorded. This is to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures, record business transactions and for training purposes.
