CHEMICAL PROJECT / PROCESS ENGINEER

(MANUFACTURING)

MERSEYSIDE

To £46,000 + BENEFITS

THE CLIENT

A world leading chemical company who manufacture a variety of organic chemicals are now recruiting a Project / Process Engineer to join the team at a manufactuirng site in Merseyside.

The Site Project / Process Engineer will be responsible for project managing a wide range of engineering projects from concept to completion whilst ensuring all work is complete in accordance with legislation.

Project Engineering

  • Prepare Capex and ensure all work is completed on time and to budget
  • Ensure existing plant and equipment meets engineering legislative requirements
  • Manage plant procurement and installation costs
  • Contractor selection, management and control
  • Maintain comprehensive engineering records

Process Engineering

  • Manage all process engineering activities required (e.g. design, producing P&ID's).
  • Initiate and participate in HAZOP studies
  • Troubleshoot plant problems and suggest improvements to increase efficiencies
  • Partake in training of plant operators during commissioning/pre-production/handover

Key requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Chemical or Process Engineering discipline
  • Experience in a Chemical Manufacturing (or similar highly regulated industry)
  • Understanding top tier COMAH regulations; ATEX, DSEAR ...
  • Understanding of process and functional safety using HAZOP and LOPA
  • Strong technical knowledge of chemical processes and equipment
  • Proven project management experience
  • Ideally chartered or working towards
