DEVELOPMENT / HOMOLOGATION ENGINEER

AUTOMOTIVE

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Homologation Engineer to join the Engineering Team at an automotive manufacturing company in Yorkshire.

The company are well known in the industry for their enhanced diesel technology, diesel and hybrid and full electric powered vehicles.

The Homologation Engineer will develop detailed engineering activities to support New Product Development and Production/Assembly build with an emphasis on Legal & Homologation certification and DVP&R approval.

Key responsibilities:

  • Engage with Procurement and Suppliers to refine and develop specifications and requirements
  • Plan and execute homologation tests and approval projects
  • Action new approvals and update current approvals to latest legislation
  • Create and maintain technical files and certification updates
  • Work closely with suppliers, manufacturing and sales teams to ensure robust engineered solutions meet product requirements
  • Work accurately within BOM and configuration system
  • Ensure compliance to product life cycles, engineering development, release and document control

Key requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience gained in Automotive industry (or similar)
  • Experience of complex component integration, Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH), Articulation/Movement, Clash detection
  • Experience of 3D CAD, Solidworks
  • Understanding of mechanical loading and validation testing
  • Thorough understanding of engineering release and control procedures
  • Good all-round project management skills and problem solving techniques
