Interim Head of Manufacturing Engineering & Capital Projects: Site start-up
Do you have experience of medium to large scale capital programmes within manufacturing or engineering? Have you delivered work in India previously? Do you have an appreciation of global corporate compliance within operating systems? If yes, then you should find this one interesting!
This isn't just about "plant and process", it is a much broader programme of works that will require someone to have the capabilities to implement business infrastructure for all departments, business systems, business processes and the necessary people to run the facility. You will have ultimate responsibility for getting the plant to a state of operational readiness.
The architects and main contractors are in place, we now need a strong Director level, Head of Manufacturing Engineering & Projects to deliver all other elements to a state of operational readiness. We expect this to take circa - 18 months
You MUST be eligible to work in the UK as early activities will involve close work the UK based stakeholders and the role will transition to permanent residence in India for the remainder of the programme.
The state of the art facility will eventually house a high number of machine assets, circa 140 employees spanning HR, Engineering, Quality, HSE, Production, Supply Chain, Finance, IT and will produce highly engineered systems for a global customer base.
Reporting to a UK division of a global organisation, you will make sure the facility is built on time, according to the required designs, plans, budgets and safety. Concurrently, you will oversee the import, export and procurement of machine assets and other capital equipment.
Then, you will begin to structure the organisation according to the global operating system, install necessary systems and processes including ERP/SAP. The supply chain will need to be in place and robust. You will coordinate the relevant industry and customer approvals, recruit the team and instil the correct values, principles, behavioural standards, compliance to the global operating system.
When at a state of operational readiness is reached, you will then hand over to the appointed, permanent Facility Manager/Director.
The Ideal Candidate
- Manufacturing/plant engineering background - any sector including chemical process, pharma, automotive, aerospace, precision engineering.
- Previous build experience - or medium to large CAPEX project experience
- Project experience in India
