My client, a manufacturing giant catering to various sectors, is seeking to appoint a finance professional to the role of Management Accountant for Manufacturing. Reporting to the Finance Manager for Manufacturing.

The business has been established for over 120 years and is a world leader in the design and manufacture of pumps, valves, and cyclones sold into various markets, the company has seen significant sustained revenue growth with output rising from £31million to circa £130million within the last 6 years. Based in the North West of England, my client is a well-established company that is growing year on year, currently with 800 employees throughout Europe with over 400 based in the northwest.

The role has a focus on supporting the operations and commercial management teams, ensuring that the business delivers profitable growth in line with its strategic initiatives. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential as is having a continuous improvement outlook and being motivated to work on their own initiative.

The role responsibilities include

  • Preparing and analysing monthly operational results; working closely with the manufacturing and supply chain teams to explain purchasing price variances and production performance variances.
  • Finance lead for company product costing reviews/changes (across both manufacturing sites).
  • Liaising with the Planning team to ensure the appropriate SLOB provisions are maintained.
  • Take responsibility for annual stock-takes across Europe - procedures and booking adjustments.
  • Managing product master data and SAP condition tables in relation to mark-ups, purchasing and freight burden and recovery rates.
  • Supporting the sales team on pricing decisions with costing information.
  • Providing financial support to the engineering, supply chain and operations teams in VA/VE reviews.
  • Participating in the "SAP Sprint" CI improvement process to implement business change and SAP enhancements.
  • Supporting the business areas to prepare CAPEX investment appraisals.
  • Support working capital improvement initiatives.
  • Preparing budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with group policies and code of conduct.
  • Improving reporting capability (using Power BI).
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountancy qualification, CA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Post-qualified experience in manufacturing as a Management Accountant
  • Proficient with Integrated ERP - SAP.
  • Costings experience.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written/oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardised situations.
  • Understands and able to break down complex or diverse information; gathers and processes data to identify problems, draw conclusions, and propose solutions.
  • Able to consider different options and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations; works well with others to advise, resolve problems, and implement solutions.
