My client, and electronics manufacturing company is looking to further grow the planning team to further improve efficiencies across a very busy fast paced site based in Hertford and accommodate for a recent period of growth that is expected to continue.

Reporting to the site Planning Manager at this multi sector manufacturing facility, you must be an experienced, driven, and enthusiastic Materials Planner who will drive production efficiencies within this proactive operation.

You will be expected to work under pressure in synergy with the production planning team whilst being an active part of an experienced team of planners and you will be expected to hit the ground running and gain the confidence of your peer group.

The successful Materials Planner will: -

  • Support the customer demand for products in Europe by ensuring availability of finished goods and materials to the sales forecast.
  • Manage stock of both materials and finished goods to meet company targets for stock holding and availability.
  • To expedite any urgent requirements and ensure the planned dates are met.
  • To monitor and report on supplier delivery performance against the plan.
  • Manage effective changeover of products to ensure continuity of supply while minimising obsolescence.
  • Ensure the system is kept up to date regarding item master files, stocking parameters and demands on production.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external contacts, working to achieve good customer service.
  • The role will also contribute to the continuous development within the department and within the Company.
  • To inform the post holders Line Manager of any difficulties in actioning the above and agree resolution.
  • Any other duties which may reasonably be required by the post holders Line Manager or Director.

The right candidates will have solid experience working as a Materials planner for a fast pace manufacturing organisation previously.

This role requires someone who can start immediately and can hit the ground running in a busy, fast paced position. The role is set to last a minimum of 3 months, but with very strong potential to be extended to 6 months.

There is a strong possibility that the successful candidate may be offered a permanent opportunity at the end of this contact.
