MECHANICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER

OIL & GAS

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to join the team at a global business who provide a specialist range of products used in the oil and gas and power generation industries.

Our client has extensive engineering capability and project manages the manufacture and delivery of systems used in both onshore and offshore applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for output of the engineering department ensuring appropriate quality of deliverables is maintained
  • Support management in the improvement of HSE and QMS systems
  • Quantify and drive engineering department performance
  • Ensure the department can support fast turnaround of technical tasks and is correctly resourced
  • Coach, mentor and develop the team to meet objectives in line with business strategy
  • Produce regular reports and KPI's
  • Maintain an awareness of best engineering practices and new technologies
  • Provide strong engineering leadership for commercial and sales activities

Key Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in managing engineering design teams within a highly regulated industry
  • Experience of DFM /DFA techniques
  • Min 10 years' experience in design, manufacture and installation of engineered solutions
  • Good knowledge of mechanical, structural and subsea engineering tools/techniques
  • Knowledge of international design codes and standards
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel
