My client, a global service provider to the manufacturing sector is currently looking to appoint a Technical Engineer to join their existing technical team on site based in Coventry.

Supplying into all tiers of the automotive sector, my client is looking to grow an already existing team and plan for succession in this aggressively growing business.

The Technical Engineer will ensure interpretation of customer specifications into process parameters and the development of the production process to minimise non-conformity across the product range.

Responsibilities included;

  • Receive and store all customer specifications and product data and maintain traceability of product and process change
  • Ensure Customer specifications are translated in to process parameters and documented in work instructions
  • Maintain/amend shop floor work instructions i.e. Standard Operations Sheets issuing revisions to Production as necessary to ensure they are up to date.

  • Responsible for ensuring supplier service / Quality issues are dealt with in a timely manner and that corrective actions agreed are monitored for effectiveness.
  • Maintain/amend shop floor work instructions i.e. Standard Operations Sheets issuing revisions to Production as necessary to ensure they are up to date.
  • Work in accordance with the ISO 16949 APQP process conducting and documenting new part/ revisions sign off.
  • Represent the Company at senior and working levels with customers and supplier's technical and commercial representatives.
  • Liaise with Production and Maintenance Managers to resolve root-cause issues.
  • Monitor and improve the performance of key process operations and develop plans to improve the quality and yield.
  • Responsible for in-depth and complete investigation, analysis and reporting of investigations into quality and/or process problems.
  • Undertake research into new/better processes that will improve the performance and efficiency of the wheel & tyre assembly process.

Essential

  • BTEC / HNC
  • Previous Process Management experience
  • Knowledge of Production and Quality processes
  • Experience compiling KPI / MIS reports
  • Experience with PPMs
  • Experience in capturing data methods / SPC
  • Knowledge of ISO 9002 and ISO 14001
  • Experience in 8D problem solving
