Technical Sales Engineer

up to £40,000 per annum + Bonus

Territory North West

This is a Field based role, paying up to £40,000 plus Bonus, Company Car, Pension, laptop and mobile phone.

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer with a proven background in selling Capital Equipment to join an Air Compressor supplier.

The position is predominantly field-based and will include travelling to customers in Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and North Wales.

Key responsibilities of the Technical Sales Engineer:

  • Strengthening the company's relationships with existing customers and developing new business opportunities
  • Carrying out site surveys and understanding the customer's requirements
  • Making presentations to promote new products and special deals
  • Agreeing sales, prices, contracts and payments
  • Processing quotations and updating the company's computer records
  • Working closely with the service department
  • Adhering to company processes and procedures
  • Advising customers about delivery schedules and after-sales service
  • Recording orders and sending details to head office
  • Carrying out competitor analysis and understanding their products and services
  • Attending conferences and seminars and keeping up with industry trends
  • Meeting sales targets

Key Requirements of the Technical Sales Engineer:

  • Previous experience in Sales
  • Previous experience selling Capital Equipment
  • Full Driving License
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Proficient IT skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisation skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • A good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and targets
