A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical / Electrical / Manufacturing Engineer to join the team at a specialist division of a global, automotive business.

Our client is renowned in the automotive industry for their technical expertise in the design and manufacture of sustainable, high technology products.

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be joining a pro-active and motivated workforce and will be responsible for co-ordinating a range of improvement projects across a fast paced, manufacturing environment.

The Role

  • Conduct assessments and identify areas for improvement across a high volume, continuous process manufacturing facility
  • Provide Lean & Six Sigma support eliminating waste, improving quality, reducing costs, improving financials, and increasing customer satisfaction
  • Co-ordinate improvement initiatives using lean methodologies and principles
  • Identify and justify capital investment for new equipment including return on investment
  • Co-ordinate cross functional teams on day to day projects
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects including; design and specification of new equipment, production and process layout
  • Support the business in tracking and delivering on key actions and savings plan

The Person

  • HND/Degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience gained in a high volume, continuous process manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering improvement projects within manufacturing
  • Six Sigma qualification (or working towards)
  • Knowledge of Lean/CI tools and techniques; Kanban, SMED, 5s, Process Flow, FMEA, DMAIC, PDCA…
  • Ability to engage and encourage people to create a high-performance culture
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Solution orientated
