ROLLING STOCK & RAIL SYSTEMS

MORGAN RYDER ASSOCIATES| DEDICATED TO WORLD-CLASS MANUFACTURING, ENGINEERING, AND THIRD-PARTY LOGISTICS

Our long history in automotive and aerospace manufacturing gave us our entry point into the rolling stock market due to the many synergies. Today, our client portfolio spans Rolling Stock, Wheel Sets & Bogies, Braking Systems, HVAC, Electrical & Electronic Systems, Platform Automation, and more.

The £150 billion world rail supply market is expected to grow by 2.7% per annum over the next 6 years, presenting a wealth of exporting opportunities for UK suppliers. Over £38 billion was spent in 2014 to 2019 to maintain and improve the UK rail network in the biggest modernisation programme for over a century and projects such as Crossrail supporting 55,000 jobs and creating more than 400 apprenticeships along the supply chain.

Over the past 5 years the industry has been highly volatile, however, due to the expansion in domestic capacity and demand, the industry has grown significantly which is partly down to two companies,Hitachi Rail being introduced in 2015 and Alstom Transport.

As we look to the future, things are very positive for the railway equipment manufacturing industry which is thanks to Hitachi and Alstom Transport UK and their investment in the rail sector. The industry and it's revenue are also set to expand and benefit from continuous investment from the Government strategy put in place after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Profits are expected to increase in the next five years inline with the rise in demand;

The rail industry contributes £3.4 billion every year to the UK economy.

The rail industry employs in excess of 124,000 people.
