Our client is a global company who specialise in developing new technologies which will enable a global shift towards sustainable energy.

The Design Engineers will join the R&D Department at a state-of-the art manufacturing facility and will contribute to some exciting new products which will help customers reduce their carbon footprint.

We are specifically looking for candidates who have knowledge/experience in the design of stainless steel tanks, pressure vessels or similar equipment.

Key Tasks:

  • Design, develop and test new products in alignment with company product roadmap
  • Assist in the generation and translation of new product requests into product design approval
  • Ensure robust engineering design solutions are achieved using FEA & DFMEA techniques
  • Ensure all specifications and design documentation are generated via CAD system
  • Ensure all projects are completed to agreed timescales, cost and customer specification
  • Ensure all solutions are suitable for product performance and meet relevant legislation and standards (electrical, gas, water)
  • Effectively plan and prioritise own workload
  • Work closely with Development Team and Product Management Team on innovation projects
  • Regularly engage with functional stakeholders; Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing

Requirements:

  • HND/Degree in a relevant Mechanical /Design engineering discipline
  • Min of 5 years experience in a Design Engineer role
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMEA)
  • 3D CAD experience, ideally SolidEdge
  • Experience of sheet metal, stainless steel, plastics and associated materials
  • Experience of following a structured, gated process through to manufacturing and production
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Innovative and forward thinking
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent problem solver
  • High attention to detail
  • Any simulation experience.. advantageous
