Materials scheduler

to £35,000 per annum

Winsford

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Materials scheduler to join a successful manufacturer, based at their site in Winsford.

Reporting into the Material and Planning Manager, the Materials scheduler is responsible for ensuring that all raw materials are ordered, effectively managed and utilised within the required timescales to meet internal and external customer requirements.

Materials scheduler responsibilities:

  • Effective scheduling/purchasing of all raw materials to site whilst ensure continuity of supply.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and suppliers on market availability, plant issues, material complaints / technical issues. Sourcing alternative materials to cover any shortages, as required.
  • Carry out regular raw materials stock evaluation to establish correct stock holding levels. Support in any mid and end of year site stock takes (as required).
  • Raise and manage purchase orders required, and their effective administration in line with company purchasing policies and procedures, (correct supplier invoice authorization, price checks)
  • Progress order confirmations whilst monitoring /reviewing against set suppliers and 3PKL's, KPI's, challenging where necessary, whilst maintaining a good working relationship
  • Prepare and send monthly forecast for Winsford Polymer requirements.
  • To provide Site Management reports such as month end as in line with the needs of the business.
  • Ensure that all materials purchased are supplied with the appropriate documentation in line with Health & Safety requirements, and standards outlined within our Quality Management System., REACH, TDS, MSDS
  • Maintaining and updating process documentation with a view of continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with other departments on any new trial requirements (materials to site)
  • Accurate data input using Microsoft applications and MRP system (AS400/SAP).
  • Support other Supply Chain department roles, as required, to ensure business continuity

Materials scheduler Requirements:

  • Experience within a similar size manufacturing, processing, or distribution environment preferred
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence peers and senior managers
  • Ability to interpret data and utilise this information to improve operational outputs
  • Ability to make decisions based on data including the potential impact of the decision on the business
  • Be able to prioritise and manage your own workload and tasks
  • Relationship Management and coordination of 3rd party vendors
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office, have a good knowledge of Excel
