I am working with a unique client who is keen to recruit a Plant Quality Engineer to add additional support for their Quality department. In this self-managing team on site for a newly merged enterprise of manufacturing companies based in greater Manchester, is looking for someone who can really think outside the box where corrective action is concerned, who possess a strong passion for process and who has a solid understanding of how to achieve effective costs savings through continuous improvement.

The role responsibilities include.

• Support the understanding and compliance with the requirements of ISO9001 in operational areas.
• Generate cost savings through developing a solid internal inspection process, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective action is implemented at the earliest opportunity.
• Completing FAIRs independently and 8D's as part of a larger team.
• Working directly with customers and suppliers, communicating issues, and working alongside suppliers to rectify issues.
• Completing inspections using measurement tools such as pin gauge, callipers, hight gauge and CMM.
• Reading and understanding technical drawings (GD&T)

Knowledge & experience:

• Working knowledge of core tools FAIRs, 8D, RCA, ICA, and visual and physical Inspection.
• The ability to read and understand technical drawings (GD&T).
• Experience in the use of inspection and measurement apparatus including CMM, Callipers, Pin gauge, Height gauge.
• Exposure to Fabrication & welding environment is highly advantageous.
• Must have good written English skills.
