Maintenance Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical)


£33,000 - £37,000 (plus call out allowance of £4,000)

Do you have the drive, ambition and work ethic required to be a success in a self-managing role on a fast-paced manufacturing site?

Are you a confident electrical engineer working on shift, looking for a day only role?

An exciting opportunity has recently arisen to join our clients team based in in Prescott, who is an international supplier of products and services into high reliability markets.

My client can offer long term progressive opportunities to those who can confidently carry responsibility for the following

  • Lead and champion projects, site improvements, TPM, 5S, planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Review & control TPM, Lean, Continuous Improvements and 5S systems applicable to engineering at his/her Site.
  • React when resources are unavailable to ensure equipment is available and maintained correctly, this must include reacting to health and safety issues outside of normal working hours.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders.
  • Report all breakdowns to the deputy UK Engineer Manager every morning after the process confirmation board meeting.
  • Provide a monthly written report to the Deputy Engineering Manager ST on the first working day of the month
  • Cooperate with Deputy Engineering Manager ST
  • Ensure your site complies with the Bodycote Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Review & control all engineering permit systems for the site on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure engineering on site complies with Bodycote Health & Safety procedures.
  • Carry out risk assessments, safe systems of work and method statements when required.
  • Review sites permit system monthly.
  • Attend call outs, as part of a rota but with flexibility depending on manpower, sickness & holidays.
  • Ensure critical spares are maintained in good order & repaired promptly
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained on site
  • Review & control engineering budgets for the site.
  • Ensure purchase orders are in place before anything is ordered.
  • Project manage projects, sometimes on different sites.

Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • ONC/HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Multi skilled
  • Gas safe on pressurised systems
