DEMAND MANAGER

Salary up to 70,000 euro depending on experience, plus attractive package

My client is a global manufacturer of consumer products and a leader in their market. With manufacturing sites in all corners of the globe, they are well situated to service the needs of their customers on a worldwide basis.

Due to expansion and growth, they are no looking to expand their supply chain team and recruit a new Demand Manager to manage the creation of the demand plan and support the commercial teams in the sign off processes through analysis and challenge. To oversee the control of actual demand to ensure an appropriate fit with the demand plan. Operate as the supply chain member of the local business unit team, identify opportunities and risk to current and potential supply and business partner multiple BU's supporting requests and information, facilitate business solutions from the master planners as appropriate. Direct the commercial decision making regarding response to business opportunity management.

Key responsibilities

  • Business partner BUD's, support achievement of their objectives whilst driving the development of SCP and improving the integrity of the planning cycle
  • Act as the interface between commercial and the extended supply chain by bringing clarity of commercial requirements to the supply chain team and options and solutions from supply chain to the commercial teams, facilitate supply solutions with the Master Planners
  • Lead and educate the commercial teams on the implementation of integrated business planning
  • Work on the Development and improvement of demand planning  processes and integration with other areas of the business
  • Support commercial teams on customer-based activities that will improve the demand signal (e.g. collaborative forecasting, VMI etc.)
  • Identify and drive forecast accuracy improvements as a key driver of safety stock reduction
  • Support BU discussions on complexity, representing the entire supply chain with an understanding of multi-dimensional complexity impacts
  • Support business projects and link with Strategic Marketing, integrating these into the Demand plan where possible
  • Create, maintain, validate and agree accurate and detailed demand plans with the BU
  • Lead the monthly BU Demand Review and ensure sign-off by BU Director
  • Represent the BU alongside the BUD and Finance representative in the monthly performance review
  • Work with the master planner to ensure a balanced weekly plan
  • Represent commercial when trade-offs are required to balance the plan
  • Management of CSL recovery process when necessary
  • Manage processes to identify abnormal demand
  • Lead and develop a team of Demand Planners

Candidate Requirements

Qualification

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Formal Supply Chain Planning qualification is a major plus
  • Fluent in English, other languages are beneficial

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years management experience at a senior level.

  • Has a highly developed sense of commercial awareness and uses this to make sound decisions, recommendations and/or propose alternatives which recognise a range of complex business, commercial, technical and financial factors
  • Work accurately in a demanding environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work proactively using own initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams and all levels of business affecting the Demand forecast process

  • Decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas
  • Ability to execute the defined SCP strategy
