Our client is a global leader in the field of industrial process equipment supplying to a wide range of industries including food, paper and metals to name a few.

Due to a healthy order book we are now in a position to recruit an additional Project Engineer to join the team in West Yorkshire.

The Design & Project Engineer will co-ordinate activities of the Design Engineers ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities of the Design & Project Engineer:

  • Allocate work to Design Engineers to create manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM's)
  • Supervise, monitor and provide technical support; create 3D designs from conceptual layout
  • Ensure drawings conform to design instructions
  • Co-ordinate projects ensuring all drawings are completed in line with project timescales
  • Check and issue drawings to Production
  • Ensure consistent material selection and update materials information
  • Ensure a complete BOM is produced
  • Organise and host design review meetings
  • Monitor progress and anticipate any design related issues.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in a 3D software package, Inventor - preferred
  • Experience in the design of capital equipment / special purpose machinery / large sheet metal structures
  • Min of 5 years DFMEA experience
  • Proven experience of leading a team, delegating work and project co-ordination
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • UK driving license and will to travel to customer sites
