We have a great opportunity for a Technical Officer to join the Product Development Team at a Manchester based FMCG manufacturing company.

The Technical Officer role will be varied and will involve acting as technical liaison between customers and internal technical teams, ensuring all technical data is accurate and in line with customer specifications.

Key responsibilities;

  • Build positive, technical relationships with customers (contract manufacturers/retailers) and help translate technical data for commercial discussions
  • Act as technical liaison on all areas relating to product development and legislation
  • Deliver technical data requirements of product launch and ongoing projects
  • Ensure technical data is accurate and clearly communicated to all stakeholders
  • Understand, interpret and build knowledge of legal/quality/technical policy requirements of customers
  • Provide relevant technical information to support new product introduction and launch
  • Understand current and future regulatory demands/trends impacting the product range
  • Support QC/Product Safety/Regulatory Affairs
  • Ensure correct packaging/artwork is delivered


  • Degree or equivalent in Chemistry or similar technical subject
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a Technical/Product Development environment - FMCG preferred
  • Excellent IT Skills - Microsoft Office
  • Very good administration skills
  • Able to communicate confidently with customers in both written and verbal form
  • Excellent communications skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Commercial acumen
  • Technical understanding of various technical aspects; due diligence, BRC / Sedex
  • German language skills -advantageous
