TECHNICAL OPERATOR / FITTER

LANCASHIRE

£27,000-£28,000 Per annum + Excellent Benefits

DOUBLE DAYS

A fantastic opportunity for a Technical Operator/ Mechanical Fitter has arisen to join the team at a global manufacturing company in Lancashire who produce globally recognised products.

The role of a Technical Operator/ Mechanical Fitter will involve:

  • Operation and control of extrusion machine to manufacture high quality products
  • Ensure machine runs to optimum, maximising OEE and minimising downtime
  • Simplifying and speeding up changeovers of packing line equipment
  • Liasing with suppliers and ordering parts
  • Ensure non-conforming product is controlled and identify root cause of breakdowns
  • Problem solving and diagnostics, finding permanent solutions
  • Sample and test finished product and raw materials and record all quality checks
  • Responsible for manufacture of high quality product.
  • Attend breakdowns and work to PPM schedule requirements within
  • Quality control of finished product and raw materials
  • Proactive approach to Health and Safety, workplace organisation and cleanliness.

The role of a Technical Operator/ Mechanical Fitter will involve:

  • Mechanically Bias/ Mechanically minded
  • Mechanical Engineering Qualification - NVQ/ ONC/ City & Guilds
  • Understanding of SMED principles & techniques
  • Show high levels of urgency
  • Problem solving way of thinking
  • Previous experience in related industry
  • Possess mechanical engineering skills
  • Experience of operating/maintaining machinery in a process manufacturing environment (Food/FMCG/Packaging)
  • Run and maintain production lines in order to produce high quality products
  • Experience with operating and maintaining extruders is ideal but not essential
  • Experience of working in a team based environment
  • Experience working in Food FMCG
  • Demonstrate drive to build personal development
