My client is one of the world leaders in the manufacture and supply of high precision compressor rotors and they have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machine Operator in Rochdale.

They are a well-established 150-year-old business, still thriving with a growing order book.

They are looking for time-served operators with minimum three years experience of setting and operating CNC machines for both turning and milling operations. It is essential to have experience with Fanuc programming.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Set & run CNC turning machines.
• Adjust set programmes where required.
• Work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Carry out maintenance tasks on all machinery & tooling.
• Work on steel products producing components to high tolerance.
• Inspect your own work using standard measurement techniques & correct any errors.

Skills & Experience

• Apprentice trained CNC Machinist.
• Use of Fanuc controls.
• Experience with Doosan, Moriseiki, Swedturn or manual machines is advantageous.
• Must be able to read and understand technical drawings.
• Knowledge of metal cutting techniques is desirable.
• High attention to detail.

Person Specification

• Great working attitude with willingness to learn & develop skills.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Flexible to work alternate shift patterns.
• Confident of working independently.

Work Pattern

Two-week rotating shift pattern with an early finish on a Friday:

Week 1: Monday- Thursday: 5:45 till 14:10, Friday: 5:45-11:45

Week 2: Monday- Thursday: 14:10 till 22:15, Friday: 11:45 till 19:25
