Process Development Technician - Injection Moulding

Greater Manchester

Days role

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Process Development Technician to join the team at a specialist injection mould manufacturing company in Greater Manchester. Our client supplies products to a wide range of sectors including automotive, aerospace, defence and packaging to name a few.

The Process Development Technician will play a crucial role in new product introduction and developing new equipment and processing solutions.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in injection moulding and knowledge of thermoplastic materials, robotics and automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimise injection moulding processes to enhance productivity and product quality
  • Process and control monitoring
  • Troubleshooting
  • Implement ongoing shop floor improvements to streamline operations
  • Enhance efficiencies through continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Supervise and train Setters and Operators to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices
  • Assist in purchasing activities related to equipment and materials required for injection moulding processes

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of injection moulding processes within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of thermoplastic materials and their properties
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues
  • Knowledge of robotics and automation techniques applied to injection moulding machines
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively train and supervise personnel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
