A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Product Safety Engineer to join a global leader who are specialists in creating innovative, safety critical equipment used in defence, aerospace and maritime sectors to make the world safer.

Your Role:

As a Product Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of products. Reporting to the Head of Product Safety, you will provide expertise in product safety management and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes.

Key Tasks

Support engineering projects and take ownership of all product safety activities

Work closely with customers to capture requirements and review product solution

Respond to non-conformance and customer complaints

Support Engineering Change Requests and manage their impact on product safety

Develop and deliver safety documentation and facilitate risk assessments and HAZID workshops

Contribute to safety meetings, audits and new business proposals

Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and company procedures

Requirements

Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline

Knowledge and experience of technical product safety, design and certification

Experience gained in defence, aerospace, automotive, rail or similar regulated sector

Knowledge and experience of hazard identification, hazard logs, risk evaluation, and safety analysis processes

Experience of FMEA's and contract design reviews

Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
